9 hours

The Crown Jewels: Experience the pinnacle of the Rockies with an immersive, full-day journey to the three most iconic alpine lakes in Canada – all from the comfort of your own private van. Available Jun–Oct only.

Overview

Louise, Moraine & Emerald. A private, tailored escape to the three most breathtaking waters in the Canadian Rockies. We combine a feast for the eyes with active immersion, moving past the crowds to enjoy the changing colours and mountain vistas along the shoreline trails of each basin. Skip the hassle of self-driving logistics, crowded parking lots, and competitive shuttle reservations – our high-touch private tour guarantees effortless access and flexible pacing throughout the day.

Experience Highlights

  • Moraine Lake (Banff, AB): Revel in the scale and magic of Moraine Lake and the Ten Peaks from the top of the Rockpile trail (350m each way). Time permitting, this can be combined with a stroll along the tree-lined lakeshore trail (up to 2.5km return), to give a dual perspective of the lake's beauty.
  • Lake Louise (Banff, AB): Experience the range's most famous alpine basin. We’ll guide you beyond the busy central shoreline to quieter vantage points offering uninterrupted views of the Victoria Glacier, Mount Fairview, and historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
  • Emerald Lake & Natural Bridge (Yoho, BC): We have two lakeshore trail options at British Columbia's "Jewel of Yoho", with the longest being a full 5.2km, mostly flat, loop of the lake. The shorter option is about 2.5km. Emerald Lake is followed by a brief stop at the Natural Bridge to witness the Kicking Horse River carving its way through solid limestone.
  • Bow Valley Parkway Drive: We'll take the Bow Valley Parkway for part of the day's driving between Banff and Lake Louise. A quieter and more relaxed alternative to the Trans-Canada Highway, this scenic route offers a different perspective of the valley and more frequent wildlife sightings. (Subject to seasonal conservation/cycling closures).
  • Private, Door-to-Door Transport: Carefully cleaned after every journey, our van comes equipped with remote-start climate control, charging ports, snacks, water refills, and four-season comforts.
  • Picnic Lunch Included: Refuel with a locally-sourced grazing spread of premium charcuterie, cheeses, and seasonal accompaniments at a carefully scouted picnic spot (please check our FAQ for additional, important details).

        What to Bring

          Clothing & Footwear:

          • Footwear: Comfortable hiking boots (ideal) or trail-appropriate walking shoes are essential. We recommend waterproof footwear to ensure you stay dry and comfortable regardless of the terrain or trail conditions.
          • Layers: Clothing fit for an active day, including versatile layers. The weather in the Canadian Rockies is famously variable; being able to "layer up or down" is key to staying comfortable. A wind and rain-resistant outer layer is recommended year-round.
          • Spare base layer: Bring an extra base layer to change into for the return journey. It’s a simple way to stay fresh and comfortable after an active day (especially in summer).
          • Pro Tip: Avoid Cotton. Cotton traps moisture and loses all insulating properties when damp, which can lead to rapid chilling. For your comfort and safety, we recommend moisture-wicking base layers made of merino wool or synthetic active-wear.

          Hydration, Food & Personal Gear:

          • Backpack: Please bring a small daypack to store your layers, water, and gear. This ensures you're prepared for changing conditions while keeping your hands free to use poles while we're hiking/walking.
          • Water: Plenty of water for an active day. We provide refills in the van - please bring your own reusable bottle(s).
          • Lunch and Snacks: We provide lunch (see FAQ for details), and a selection of light snacks is available in the van. However, we always recommend bringing along any personal favourites (like a specific energy bar or fruit) to keep your energy up throughout the day.
          • Sun Protection: Sunglasses, hat, and sunscreen (even in winter).
          • For Photos & Devices: A fully-charged camera or smartphone, and a USB-A charging cable if available (USB-A charging ports are available in the van).
          • Specialized Gear: We provide hiking poles and microspikes/ice cleats/snowshoes - no need to bring your own unless you prefer them.

          For Winter Conditions:

          • The Essentials: Insulated gloves, thick wool socks, a warm toque/beanie, moisture-wicking wool or synthetic base layers (upper and lower body; avoid cotton ), and additional warm layers (including a warm, weatherproof outer layer for wind/snow/rain protection).
          • Footwear: Insulated hiking boots are essential (waterproof strongly recommended).
