LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, MOLARI acknowledges that it operates on the traditional territories of the Indigenous peoples of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksikaitsitapi (the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai Nations), the Tsuut’ina Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney Nations).

Our journeys through the Canadian Rockies - including Kananaskis, the Kootenay Plains, and Banff, Kootenay, Yoho, and Waterton Lakes National Parks - also traverse the ancestral homelands of the Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, and Mountain Métis peoples. We acknowledge that the City of Calgary (Mohkinstsis) is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta (Districts 5 and 6).

We are grateful for the traditional knowledge and stewardship of these lands and waters, and we commit to guiding with respect for the deep history and enduring presence of the Indigenous peoples who have cared for these places since time immemorial.
